Before you print
3D printing FAQ
The practical answers you may want before buying, slicing, or printing a Rogue & Rendered animal model.
Are the 3D animal models physical products?
No. The animal models are digital downloads for 3D printing, so no physical model is shipped. Posters are a separate product type and may be sold as physical items through Etsy.
What file formats are included?
Every animal page lists exactly what is included. STL is the standard format for current 3D animal models. If a model includes another format, we list it clearly on that model page and its Etsy listing.
Are all models physically test-printed?
No. Each animal page tells you whether we have physically test-printed that model. A model can pass our digital checks without having been printed by us, and we keep those two facts separate.
What does digitally validated mean?
It means we completed the published digital file checks and slicer review at the stated size. It is useful evidence that the file is prepared for printing, but it is not a guarantee for every printer, material, scale, support setup, or slicer setting.
Do the models need supports?
Some do. Check the print notes on the animal page before slicing. If supports, a brim, or a particular orientation are important for that model, we list them there.
Can I resize a model?
You can scale an STL in your slicer, but smaller sizes can weaken delicate features or lose detail. Treat the published size as the size we actually evaluated unless the model page says that other scales were checked too.
What printer, material, and settings should I use?
Use the product-specific print notes as your starting point, then adjust for your own machine, material, nozzle, layer height, supports, and slicer. Check the published dimensions before printing so the model fits your build volume.
How do I receive larger files after buying on Etsy?
Your Etsy purchase includes the download instructions you need. If a file pack is too large for Etsy attachments, the buyer instructions provide private access to the files. Private download links are not published on this website.
Where can I find dimensions and print details?
Open the animal page for the model you are interested in. You will find its exact dimensions, included formats, part count, print setup, validation status, and known limitations there, with a link to the current Etsy listing.
What licence comes with a 3D model?
Current 3D model downloads use a personal-use licence unless the product says otherwise. Read the Licence page for the general summary and the licence included with your purchase for the terms that apply to that specific product.
What if I have an order or download problem?
Message Rogue & Rendered through Etsy from your order or the shop page. If your question is about a specific product, include the animal or poster name so we can get to the right details quickly.
